Rerun Fields
Re-measure individual fields of a completed or terminated measurement without repeating the whole measurement. Only the fields you select are re-acquired from the SEM, and their data replaces the old data in place. The rest of the measurement is left untouched.
Use it when a few fields came out badly, for example because of a charging artefact, a focus problem or a beam interruption.

Spotting Problem Fields
Completed fields that are more than 50% Unknown by area are outlined in orange-red on the specimen holder view. These are usually the fields worth re-measuring.
Selecting Fields to Rerun
- In the on-stage sample status panel, select a measurement that has result data (completed or terminated)
- Click Rerun Fields on the toolbar — the button stays pressed while you are selecting
- On the specimen holder view, click each field you want to re-measure. Selected fields are highlighted in yellow; click a field again to deselect it
- Click Rerun Fields again to finish. AMICS shows the field numbers to confirm (for example "Confirm rerun field 2, 5?") — click Yes
- Click Start. Only the selected fields are re-measured
Changing or Cancelling a Pending Rerun
- To add or remove fields, click Rerun Fields again. Your previous selection is shown, so you can add to it or deselect fields before confirming
- To cancel the rerun, deselect every field and click Rerun Fields. AMICS asks "Cancel the pending rerun for all previously selected fields?" — click Yes
Automatic Rerun of Bad Fields
To re-measure high-Unknown fields automatically while the measurement is running, turn on Auto Rerun Bad Frames in [Investigator Settings] → Measure Settings. A field whose classification comes back more than 50% Unknown is then re-acquired in place straight away, instead of only being outlined.
Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
Auto Rerun Bad Frames | Automatically re-acquire a field in place if its classification comes back more than 50% Unknown | Off |
