overview the line library stores the expected center of the x ray peak locations, recorded in kev, for each element the library will, by default, contain two main x ray spectral lines, which will either be the ka and la, or la and ma lines, with some rare elements containing all three lines in addition to the peak position, the line library will also store the kev range to the left and right of the peak position as two independent values, for each line modifying the line library the line library can be customized according to individual user requirements by using the icons located above the line library menu add will add a new line, using a pop up "add line" interface edit will become active when a line is selected, and allow for changes to line data via "edit line" pop up interface delete will become active when a line is selected, and will remove the selected line reset will remove all changes and reset to the original default list load remove any changes, and load from persistent storage save same current list into persistent storage (only one list can be saved) note changes made to the line library will be lost when shutting down process, unless the changes have been saved to persistent storage add line interface if no line is selected, the add line button will pop up an interface with "empty" data in the case of a line being selected, the data from the selected line will be populated, allowing users to use this data as a template to create a new line note! this behavior differs from the "edit line" function, as the "add line" will not overwrite the existing data if no data is changed, amics will save a line using the element name, but a default energy and type edit line the edit line interface is similar to the add line interface; however, it will only be active when an existing line is selected the interface will pop up and populate with the selected line data, but will prevent changes to the name and type only the peak, left range, and right range are available to be changed
