materials tab the process classification tab will change the main control window interface to show and interact with the standard material database this interface will also allow access to any groupings or steps saved with each database this section will cover the materials sub tab the main control window interface will now show a list of materials, but rather than the list stored in the amics file, this list will now reflect a list stored on the local pc generally, the classification tab in the control window is used with the reference tab located in the top tab however, amics has built into it the flexibility to view and use this tab with multiple main menu and primary window interfaces however, the main control interface specific for the classification tab is located at the top of the window each command does the following function this dropdown menu will give access to all the currently available material classification methods if the currently opened data uses an existing material classification, that particular method will have the "\[current]" suffix next to its name this button will become active once a material is selected in the classification list, and will delete the selected material this button allows the currently selected material classification list to be sorted alphabetically or in a user defined order the original creation order can also be retained this button will become active once a material is selected in the classificaiton workflow, and this option will send the chosen reference spectra to esprit for quantification this final option will refresh the material classification list, which is helpful if multiple process instances are used it will read the changes made from another instance groupings when switching to the grouping sub tab, the main interface no longer shows the main material list, but any material groups created for the selected material classification this dropdown menu will give access to all the currently available material classification methods if the currently opened data uses an existing material classification, that method will have the "\[current]" suffix next to its name this option becomes active when a group is selected from the grouping list, and it deletes the selected group this option will import a grouping from a text file or another amics database this button will create a new grouping based on the material list of the selected material classification library this option will become active once a group is selected, allowing users to edit the existing/selected group this final button will fully expand or collapse all the groups in the selected material classification steps when switching to the steps sub tab, the main interface no longer shows the main material list but any classification steps created for the selected material classification
