to access the material classification libraries stored on the local computer, the reference tab can be used by clicking on the reference tab the main material classification window will be opened the image below includes the spectrum visualization, global and user materials database, and the reference material properties panels to bring up the user material classification list, the "classification" button at the base of the left hand panel needs to be selected note for full access to build and refine the material classification methods, amics process must be in both the mineral standard tab and also the classification panel otherwise, some functionality required to build and refine classification methods will not be available additionally, to access all the options a sample database needs to be loaded into amics process for it to load both the material classification method from the user database as well as from the current loaded measurement data reference menu ribbon the reference menu ribbon provides the main interface with the reference material from left to right the menu options area (referenced to example image) importing and exporting the whole user database as a db file this allow for the transport of all material reference between systems reload will refresh the material reference library list oretype (left) allow users to create a new library, or rename an exisiting libry or duplcaite a library oretype (right) the second set of import/export buttons will allow users to import/merge a single reference library, or export a single reference libaray standard section is an interface with options to acquire spectrum directly from the hardware or import a spectrum text file (such as spx, msa, ems, csv, xml) to be used as a refernece spectrum remove will delete a single or multiple reference spectra quantification section provide the interface to perform spectral quantification of the selected reference spectra user material classification list this left hand panel provides access to all the existing material classification methods stored on the local install location, which can be accessed by the classification dropdown menu selecting any of the reference materials in this interface will also update the reference material properties panel on the right hand side of the material standard interface the reference material properties provide information on the material, which can be modified/customized by the user, or material data can be imported from various other sources this can either be from another reference material or in the case of the elemental composition can be imported from the quantification workflow global and user materials database amics also comes with a library of reference spectra of common minerals and materials included, which can be used to help identify measured spectra to compare and check against the global material database, a measured spectra should first be selected in the example below a pyrite spectra has been selecetd, and the main spectrum visilisation windows will now display the selected measured spectra by hovering over the display the elements associated with each of the detected peaks can be assessed the selected spectra can then be compared to the global material database by first selecting the database by clicking the global button indicate in the image below then by clicking the compare to database button, amics will search through the global library and find a list of cloest matching spectra the data from the global reference libaray can then be transferred to the new measured spectrum by right clicking the desired spectrum, to bring up the context menu from this menu the data and/or name of the global reference spectrum can be copied to the new measured spectrum it is also possible to search through user created reference materials, which are stored within indiviudal reference libraries this option can be accesed by using the user material database button to switch from the global material database, and then using the "compare to database" function to search all user created reference spectra in addition to the compared matching results, the reference column will indicate which library the reference spectra comes from example video showing the usage of the material classification interface in amics process
