Field Touch-up
2 min
the field touch up function is designed to remove the processing artifacts caused by differences in material classification due to field boundaries the image below provides an example of this artifact showing a particle crossing a field boundary, with half the particle classified as one phase and the other half, in the next field, being classified as another this can be due to specimens with fine grain sizes, and the x ray point on the two sides of the boundary lands on different materials or due to specimens with chemically similar species changing across field boundaries because of subtle changes in beam behavior removing these artifacts can be easily achieved by changing to the others menu ribbon, and selecting the field touchup button once the button is pressed removal of this artefact is done autonomously by amics, by comparing the segments on two sides of the field boundary, determining which segment represents a larger area the classification from the segment with the larger area will then be used to correct the cross boundary segment access requirements a valid license with amics offline or amics online reviewer status comments
