a classification method (oretype) can be defined as a selection of minerals that are known to or are likely to occur in a sample and the classification steps required to match unknown spectra to the known mineral or material definitions defining a subset of minerals (or materials) and not a full mineral list reduces processing time and increase accuracy where spectra for different minerals may be similar it also allows for very specific rules to be applied using the docid\ no1zj3kwsfbjrg313fnjm or docid\ ey 6gbloq2pinuevb95uu the quickest way to start with a new classification method is to copy it from an existing one the steps for duplicating a classification method are step 1 activate the classification window and select the main ribbon this will work in both amics process and amics investigator step 2 make the classification method that will be duplicated active by selecting it from the drop down menu in the classification pane step 3 select the duplicate button step 4 give the new classification method a unique name the method can now be found in the drop down list and edited tips for success! sync changes between open windows by pressing the reload icon when multiple instances of amics process or amics investigator are open
